Walt Disney World, Florida ~ A Dreamer's Paradise

Walt Disney World. A place that automatically brings thoughts of Cinderella’s Castle with fireworks exploding above.
I’ve spent a large amount of time learning about the many resort hotels, the restaurants, the recreation, and of course the parks themselves. Especially since they are all constantly changing! Disney is known for creating memories and making dreams come true. The memories those trips have created will be with me forever.
Minnesota is my home and I’ve enjoyed helping plan Disney vacations for families here in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul since I started in this business over 30 years ago. Over the years that has expanded to include families all over the United States.
A Walt Disney World vacation is not a one-size-fits-all situation. Are you traveling with a large multi-generational group with an age range of 5 to 75? Are you traveling with friends and looking for an “Adult Disney” experience? Are you a family of four, taking your children to Walt Disney World for the first time?
For first timers, it’s my job to help you to navigate through the overwhelming amount of information that can be found on the internet. Your friends and relatives have all sorts of advice for you based on their own vacations. But this isn’t their vacation, it’s yours! I can simplify the entire process by narrowing down the Walt Disney World vacation that’s best for your family based on your budget as well as the desires of your family to create magical memories.
For the beloved “Disneyphiles” like me who return to the various Disney Destinations again and again, I can help your next trip be unique from those of years past. Backstage tours, signature dining, a new resort experience, and recreation opportunities will make each trip extraordinary. The Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney Springs, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, and Disney’s Blizzard Beach await you in sunny Florida.
I would consider it an honor to help you build the path towards making the Disney dreams come true for you and your family.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
If you're having a hard time getting your head around the "Virtual Queues" and "Boarding Groups" that are needed in order to join a virtual queue, you're not alone! Until I was able to experience it for myself, I just didn't get it! So I paid special attention and took screen shots on my phone so I could help to clear things up a bit for my clients! As of right now, there are only two Walt Disney World attractions using a Virtual Queue: Tiana's Bayou Adventure at the Magic Kingdom as well as Guardian's of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Epcot
NOTE: Virtual queue is no longer needed for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. However, my examples listed here will help you understand any virtual queue.
Yes, you must wake up early. Not my forte. Alarm clocks are evil things and should be destroyed. But to experience an attraction that uses a virtual queue as well as Disney's Genie+ service you just have to do it. Suck it up, buttercup!
A photo album is connected to this post so you can see the screen shots and photos I took of my experience. I encourage you to take a look at them as they will help illustrate this post.
There will be 2 daily opportunities to request to join the virtual queue: 7:00 AM (Guests do not need to be in the park when they join, but must have a theme park reservation for the appropriate park) and 1:00 PM (Guests must be physically in the appropriate park to join the virtual queue at this time)
You can go in to My Disney Experience as early as 6:00am to confirm your party size. This small step often slowed things down for past guests who had to take those extra few seconds to select the people that were going to ride with them. that is no longer the case.
As you lie in your bed at 6:59am, have your app open and ready! You'll need to watch the time very closely with a finger poised over the "Join a Boarding Group" button in the My Disney Experience app. At the stroke of 7am, the Current Land Status will change from CLOSED to OPEN. Now is the time to hit that button and join a boarding group! These boarding groups fill up within mere minutes so you've gotta be quick!
So now, you wait. Or go back to bed! You are given an estimated return time in minutes. For example it will say, "Estimated Return: 80 minutes" which means you have roughly 80 minutes to be at the attraction. But that is just an estimate! You'll need to keep an eye on your phone. Be sure to enable notification settings in your phone so that you will be notified when your boarding group can get in line for the attraction.
My Disney Experience clearly states that you have a limited window of time to get to the attraction. The notification will say something like, "Head to the entrance of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind by ___am." Guests are given a one-hour time window to return to the attraction. So pay very close attention to My Disney Experience. Your boarding group may be called earlier than anticipated. This one-hour window of time was what you've been waiting for so don't dawdle!
Now it's time to stand in the Virtual Queue line for the attraction. Your boarding group does not allow you to skip the line. It is your ticket to be able to stand in the line. But honestly, the wait isn't long once you're in line.
Virtual queues are complimentary!
